Hitting the 'Reset' Button...

Wow... the weekend sure turned out differently than I'd planned going in. As most of you already know, I skipped racing at Platte. I won't bore you with details or excuses, other than to say that once 5pm came on Friday, my mind shifted to finding myself again after the roller coaster ride I've been on lately. I simply didn't have the mental energy to give the race a worthwhile effort, nor could I deal with 52 people (admittedly caring) people ask me what's wrong.

The good news is that I'm in a lot better place about things today than I was Friday. I spent a lot of time alone... riding my bike, working on my bike, thinking. It was good, well except for the sunburn I got on yesterday's ride, but even that's not too bad.

I'm glad we're not moving to Minneapolis. As appealing as I tried to make that in my head, the bottom line is that I still never aspire to live somewhere where the winters are colder than they are here in Nebraska. Plus, Laura gets to dig into her new ELL teaching position at Hawthorne Elementary (just 6 blocks from our house), we don't have to sell our house, and we've got a lot of good friends in Lincoln.

It's at times like these that I'm thankful for my good fortune. Have a great week.

Cheers,
MG

You're right Matt. Sometimes I guess we all need a little reminder of how lucky we really are.

That's exactly what I was doing this weekend, minus the sunburn

I think I know what you are talking about MG. Treating yourself to something nice that makes you feel better is worth more than suffer through 6 hours at Platte anytime.
I often need a reminder to show me my blessings in life.
