My strategy for TI v.5 will be a bit different. That much I know for certain. I learned a lot in my failed v.4 attempt that I'll be able to put to good use in this next endeavor. My gear setup will be much tighter. I'll have much less weight on my body and more on the bike, which will likely be a Salsa Fargo. There is one way I could be on a bike other than the Fargo, but it's a looooooong shot and it's a ball that's completely out of my court. Let's just say I'm planning on being on a Fargo and leave it at that... Yeah, that's the ticket.
Registration opens up next week to riders who haven't competed in previous TransIowa races. If you're hankerin' for adventure and have the sack to ride 319 miles in one sitting, there are few challenges that can compare to the test of mettle that is the Grandaddy of Gravel, the one, the only -- TransIowa. It's time to sack up, people!
Dig it!

Can't wait to see you and the rest of the FFL up here in May. Tell me there will be a FFL FanVan too. That would be too sweet!
I plan on stirring up some sleepy townspeople in some village in the middle of the night, you game, MG?
Heck yeah, Guitar Ted!! I'm game! You know I'm gonna' have to have one of those huge-ass Monster energy drinks at some sleepy town in the middle of Iowa and when that sucker hits, watch out! I'm gonna' be loaded for bear and we'll be goin' on a tear! That'll be quite a scene...
Man, I'm getting stoked for this already. It's going to be a good time. I plan to have more fun this year than I had last year, regardless of the weather. I was too serious last year.
Congrats on getting in MG. Look forward to seeing you and the rest of the Lincoln crew.
Thanks Steve -- Right back at 'cha, brother! It's gonna' be a great time, provided our weather is a little better than we had last year!
Cheers,
MG
