There weren't many folks left late Saturday afternoon on Mt. Krumpet after the pro men finished at Jingle Cross. Most of the fans had already made their escape for the awards ceremony, or their cars and a hasty exit. But as I dropped in at the top of the muddy descent, I spied photographer Mauro Heck perched just to the left of the trail, waiting patiently for me, as if he'd gotten word that I was on my way down. It had been discussed among a few of us that I was going see how the nasty portage we'd all been slogging up all day fared as a descent. Apparently Mauro caught wind of my plans...
Thanks for sticking around to snap a shot. I was stoked to see it online.
Cheers,
MG

Completely unrelated, but I couldn't find your email address in my contacts.
Would you be willing to mention the 2009 Omaha Bike De'lights ride to the Lincoln bike community. I figured some of them may be interested in bringing the famalies out for some SLOW biking, lights, and hot and cold beverages along the way.
Hey Bob, You can always get a hold of me at dirtstories@gmail.com. Thanks for the link to your ride too. That's super cool.
I think some folks have the misconception that I don't like to ride slow too. I don't discriminate by speed! I like going any speed... In fact, many of my rides are pretty darn slow these days.
Thanks again for the heads-up, and for the link. I hope Laura and I, and many other folks from Lincoln, can make it up.
Cheers,
MG
Yeah- If Biker Bob needs any evidence of you riding slow, he can talk to me. The only way you will ever ride with me is slow! I don't think being accused of "fast" will ever be a problem for me!
Anywho- that's a cool shot of you on the Fargo. Kind of a riding off in the sunset view of 2009's cycling season, eh?
It was a good one too. Thanks for being part of my great rides and cycling memories from 2009 MG.
Oh... Matt rides slow, but it usually takes 150+ miles to get him to slow down. ;-)
LOL... Now that's funny! Bob, this time of year, you'd see me going really, really slow after 150 miles! Like zero miles per hour... ;-) Pass me another Cutthroat IPA!!
Guitar Ted, I enjoyed every minute of the time we spent together this past season. We're gonna' have a lot more great memories in 2010 too! I'm looking forward to it, my Brother. It's going to be the best season yet.
