Component Maker Thomson Dead at 68...

Read about it on VeloNews.com...

It was with a heavy heart that I read this earlier today. L.H. "Ronnie" Thomson was a good man, as far as I knew of him. Though I only had the pleasure of speaking with him directly twice, my impression of him was very good, and I've used his seatposts almost exclusively for more than a decade. And while I didn't know him well, based on my interactions with the man and his products over the years, here's how I'll remember him:

Ronnie Thomson was a man of precision. A man of quality. A man that didn't believe in change for the sake of change. He was a southern gentleman and all around super nice guy.

But most of all, I got the impression that Ronnie Thomson was a family man, and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and colleagues in his company, who clearly lost a father, leader and friend.

Godspeed Ronnie Thomson.

Good post. Ditto from me on your sentiments.

Condolences.

That's a tough death. He was recovering from bladder cancer and then had a heart attack or stroke on top of that:

I'm certainly one who will ride on with Ronnie's work on my bikes to remember him by with all the stems and seatposts I own and use. Here's to his wife, children and grandchildren to continue the biz Ronnie built.

R.I.P.
