La La La La, La Cruz...

Here it is... The world debut of JP's new Salsa LaCruz disc-specific 'cross bike. True Temper OX Platinum steel, baby... Yeah, it rides as sweet as it looks. It may just be the ultimate randoneering steed (look that one up in your cycling dictionary...).

Pics are from the final Bacon Ride of 2007, earlier this morning. MW, JP, da Butchie and I were in the hizzouse for the 5am roll-out. Ouch... That was early.

Damn that La Cruz would make a fine companion for my orange Dos Niner. I love the flat bar set up too.

lol... nice. two jasons in a row. butcher, nice to see you're still kickin' post-interbike. seems like it's been forever since we've talked...

nap, what nap? i just threw out fifteen years of mba and mountain bike and bicycling. i'm only keeping bike, dirt rag, lincoln ve low and special issues of other mags from now on. lightening the load...

you should have seen how many magazines i just took to the recycler... amazing. it was like a trip through memory lane.

good bacon ride today. that la cruz of jp's is ultra sweet. even though i love my ccc, i still envy the la cruz. you're right jason - it's the perfect compliment to a dos... or an el mariachi... or both!

cheers,
mg

Man, I did that magazine toss a year or two ago. Part of me wishes I kept 'em. I mean you never know when you're gonna need to read a review of some new toe clips ;)

true... i probably should have thrown them up for adoption. oh well. i kept the ones that meant anything to me.

so yes dave chase, i kept the copy of mountain bike from 1995 with travis brown on the cover. ;-)

the la cruz looks sweet. they come as frame only or fully built? are they pricey? i've been wanting a light steel cross bike again... hmmm.

MG said...

either/or conrad. i think you'd dig the la cruz too... it's got the feel i know you so highly prize in fine steel. salsa doesn't set an msrp, but i believe typical retail for their complete bike is around $1600, with a frameset going for $6-700 or so, if memory serves. they're really a nice bargain for the level of quality you receive.
