Looks like a fun trip! Did you get out to Capital Forest?

Sweet pics of Raineer, too. Last time we were out, we went to the lodge but fog rolled in and we couldn't even see the mountain. Sweet any way, though.

so true t-bone. it's absolutely incredible. i love the rockies - don't get me wrong. but the pacnw has a totally different alpine experience. that's the best part of traveling for me.

dave, i didn't pedal a single day while i was out there. two full weeks off the bike... it got hard towards the end, but now that i'm back on the bike, i think the time off was well spent. my legs feel totally fresh right now, even with the insane mileage i pulled a few weeks ago (that was capped by the 155 to ponca).

i think one of the best parts of rainier is its illusive nature. you're never guaranteed a peak shot. heck, those peak images were shot on our last day there -- the mountain hadn't been out in its entirety until that exact time. i woke up at 6am, looked out the window and saw blue sky and turned to laura and said "get up, we're heading up the mountain."

and we did... man, i'm glad we did too. it was amazingly beautiful.

czech you both later,
mg

moab 24hr recruiting call maybe ...?

hahaha... it was an accident actually, but we can always talk 24 hours!

jp reminded me about a pretty significant conflict with the 24 hours of moab tho -- the beer ride. it's 10/14 -- the same day as moab.

hmmmm.....
