Sometimes you kick -- sometimes you get kicked...

Saturday: Absolutely perfect conditions at Platte. Shorts and short sleeves weather.

Sunday wasn't quite as nice. Check out the following pics from our aborted attempt to get the Platte River State Park goodness two days in a row, courtesy of our GB Mitch Kline.
Getting ready to ride in the parking lot -- at this point, the trails were still in great shape.

The scene post-ride told the story of trail conditions that went horribly wrong... We used the draining water in the parking lot to get the major mud off our bikes (note my not-so-new anymore 3-day-old '06 Dos Niner).

As it hails incessantly on us at the top of 001, Butch calmly asks Sieler and I to help him document the scene photographically. Here I am riding off into the hail...

And here's Todd Sieler on his titanium IF singlespeed.... Now that's a nice ride!

As Butch gets his camera out, MW formulates a strategy for covering up the Soulcraft twins when the "real hail" comes.

Thanks to everyone that I rode with this past weekend. Even with Sunday's hail-shortened session, it was still an awesome weekend of riding.

Cheers,
MG

Ahh, looks like fun was had anyway. Say hey to Seiler from me if'n he's still around. We've had cold and snow for about a week now. I did squeak in a 65 mile roadie in (shorts and short sleeves) last monday, though...
