yeah, i missed seeing it in person, but cory said treefarm was rocked pretty hard from it. he looked pretty dazed in the still photos i saw from right after it happened.
man, i felt really bad for the guy. he was looking good when it happened. totally in contention...
sketchy conditions (even for a cross race) making it difficult to hold a straight line + a tight loop putting you inches away from someone coming in the opposite direction (bad course design) = trebon's bad day. it was the other dude's fault, and he looked pretty hurt too. i wonder who it was? the organizers should have at least put some decent fencing there.
not sure who the other guy was, but yeah, there probably should have been a better barrier separating the two lanes of traffic, especially given the conditions. if it'd have been dry, there would have been no problem whatsoever...
... but it was a 'cross race in december. what do you expect? it's typically gonna' be sketchy in december...
